... that Jas was 16 months!

Jas loves carnivals and corn dogs,

Kisses and In-N-Out,

And going on date nights with mommy and daddy.

Sometimes she loves eating in the park for a fun family outing, and sometimes she throws huge tantrums until she gets to sit in your lap instead of the stroller,

She always loves bath time,

And she FINALLY loves walking!

I am SOOOOOO happy she is walking! My poor arms need a break! But now that she can confidently toddle all over the house, we have another problem we need to address: how totally not baby-proof our house is. I was doing the dishes and she is so tall that she walked up next to me and grabbed a steak knife off the counter and I FREAKED out. Also, her favorite toys are our 387 remotes that we have downstairs, specifically the tiny remote to our sound bar. She loves to carry it around the house and hide it, and it goes missing for DAYS. One time Matt found it wedged in a hole in her play mat, and once I found it in my purse in the middle of work.

But who can get mad at this angel face toddling up to you???

I love my stinky Jas!!!!!!!!!

... that it was Pioneer Day?

We met up with Deb and Steph for some Pioneer Day fireworks!

Aunt Deb let Jas play with her light up Minnie Mouse ears and spoiled her with a light saber that she now loves to carry around the house and hit everything with. Jas was a little less attentive than she was at the 4th of July party... not sure if it was because she just thinks fireworks are a normal occurrence now, or maybe because we woke her up early from her nap... but she wasn't too bad. She just wanted to walk all over the park by herself in the dark, through everyone else's blankets and straight toward the duck pond like a little terror. But all in all, we had fun.

We love Auntie Deb and Auntie Steph and pioneers!

... that it was Summertime?

Bishop Matty had to make an appearance at the Ward Primary Pioneer Day Bike Parade, and you KNOW Matt loves pioneers and bikes and parades.

Jas loves the bike trailer and I have all the heart eyes for our matching family shirts that I got Matt for Father's Day this year.

Later that afternoon, Jas and I headed up to Bountiful for our buddy Boe's 2nd birthday party!!!

She LOVED the shallow baby pool and we had the best time! It was fun to hang out with the birthday boy and actually enjoy the Utah heat instead of melting in it!

We love summer Saturdays!

... that Mom and Dad came to visit again?

They just need to buy a house here already.

They came up the weekend after the 4th... probably for a missionary wedding. But we're always glad to see them! Especially when they want to eat at Spitz!!!

We are so grateful that they can stay at our house and help take care of Jas, especially when she wakes up looking like this:

That is boogers. Everywhere. Crusted all over half of her face, jammies, blankets, and sheets. But don't worry, Grampus made sure to post this to Instagram before he cleaned her off. Mean Grampus. Mom made up for it by making us come chicken tsu and a giant batch of spaghetti sauce. Both of which were mooched from us by Cait and Kade.

Mom and dad also somehow convinced Jas to start walking! FINALLY!!! I am convinced that she just refuses to do anything for me and Matt. She only crawled for the daycare ladies, and she only walked for NaNa and Grampus! She is a stubborn, stubborn girl!

Mom also went to Park City with us on Saturday to have breakfast with Amber and Cody!

She was visiting for the 4th and we squeezed in a little visit right before they left town! Love my best friend of 18 years! And love this stinky baby who was trying to be cute after being extremely needy and annoying while we were all trying to eat.

Love her anyway! And love Am and NaNa and Grampus!

... that it was the 4th of July!!!

We love the USA!

Our 4th started out a little rough (cranky baby = cranky mommy = nobody's happy) but we fixed that in the afternoon with a little sunshine and pool time.

Jas LOVES the water, and the pool in our housing complex is not too shabby! After cleaning up and a little nap, we headed down to Sandy for fireworks!

We had such a great time!!! Food trucks, music, friends, dancing, fireworks, and family: it was perfect. Jas was so good and loved everything, especially my Brazilian lemonade. It was so cute to see her curled up on Grandpa's lap watching the lights!

'Merica!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

... that we got a new bishop?

A little while ago, we found out that our bishop was moving. It was a big surprise, because he hadn't been bishop that long. A few weeks later, we got called into the Stake President's office for an interview and started panicking... Turned out that he was just interviewing all the priesthood leaders and didn't say anything about the bishop leaving, and when we left we both sighed with relief.

Then a few weeks later, we got called back in and...

Hello, Bishop Harrison.

I wasn't really surprised at all. Matt is a wonderful, wonderful man and always the first to step and serve others. I know he will do great things in this ward. I know they need a bishop who is loving, kind, patient and selfless. Now if he only had a wife to support him who was also all of those things........

When I called my parents to tell them and ask them to pray for me us, Mom immediately started looking at flights. I didn't expect them to drop everything and come out, but her exact words were, "I am NOT missing this!" So they came out for a very short weekend trip to support us.

Cait and Kade also told us they wanted to come to our ward to support us see if Matt would cry (which obviously he did, he's Matt) and of course Matt's parents came to our ward too. I'm sure the whole ward knew what was up when we walked into ward conference with all of our family members and Matt's beard shaved off, but no one ran away crying or booed us, so I guess they were okay with it.

Jas is so proud of her daddy that she has officially dubbed him her new favorite parent/slave

And of course she loved having NaNa and Grampus around, if only for a few short days.

Matt told me he wanted to ease into his bishop duties slowly so that he didn't get too overwhelmed. Immediately after that, we found out the Girl's Camp was happening that week and he would need to make an appearance. Obviously.

Don't worry, Jas is smiling in that pic, not dying.

Girls Camp ended up being super awesome, even if it was a two hour drive there and back on a Thursday night with a very tired toddler who wanted to play in the dirt and we didn't get home until almost midnight. The first of many Bishop adventures we will have, I am sure. I am grateful for a husband who is always willing to serve wherever he can, and has the faith to do whatever the Lord asks of him. He is definitely the rock in our family, and I would be lost without him.

We love our Bishop Matty Pants!!!!!!!!!!!!!

... that Jas was 15 months!

Jas' newest things are this silly smile

And puckering her lips.

She loves kisses now, and it is my favorite. She gives kisses to everything: mom, dad, daycare ladies, people at church, bottles, books, toys, the couch, phones, TV remotes... she loves it all. It makes putting her down for nap time a little more difficult when she insists on kissing her bottle, my lips, nose, arm, and hand all 50 times each before she goes down, but who could get mad at that?

Jas also loves all the food.

Even some weird pickled mushrooms that we got in a Blue Apron meal from Granny Tanny and Grandpa. Seriously. She gobbled them up like a little weirdo.

She loves snuggles with Daddy

And snuggles with... the couch

Some of her favorite toys include the TV remotes and mommy's hair brushes

And I have also been successful in teaching her to sleep with her eye's slightly open.

Everyone gives me a hard time about not putting her in shoes ever (she doesn't even walk, people!), so I finally bought her the CUTEST sandals. Brought them home and put them on her:

Waaaaaay too small for her giant pudgy feet. She basically had no circulation to her toes. But they were so adorable, I made her wear them for a few weeks anyway.

I love this little stinky baby so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
