... that Jas was six months!

Jas is getting so big!!! We got her her first little walker

Which she LOVES! Almost as much as she loves her buddy Karie.

She also finally learned how to sit up! But it takes a lot of serious concentration:

And she refused to sit up for her actual six month pics, because she is as stubborn as she is cute.

Love my Jas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

... that summer was coming to a close?

The week after Matt's birthday always means the same thing: my work retreat at Snowbird!

I went up by myself for the first night, because I thought it would just be easier for Matt to take care of Jas and get to work if he was at home, and then he could just meet me up there for the second night. But that meant I had two whole days without my sweet little Jas! (Truth be told, I was a little excited for some time to myself!) Thursday and Friday flew by, and then it was time for the big dinner on Friday. Matt dropped Jas off at his parents' house and met me for dinner, and then we both went to go pick Jas up afterward. Just as we were leaving the restaurant, Matt's dad called me to ask if we were on our way yet and I could hear a very grumpy baby wailing in the background! I assured him we would be there soon, and it was all I could do not to speed home as fast as I could! As soon as we got to the house, I scooped her up in my arms and just squeezed and squeezed her until she finally calmed down. Poor girl was way over tired and just so sad! I rocked her for a little while, then when we put her in the car to take her back to the resort, I sat in the backseat with her to keep her happy and she fell asleep holding onto my arm.

My whole heart melted and I promised I would never ever leave her again!!!

Until a few hours later... while she was waking up multiple times throughout the night. Apparently, she did not like sleeping in the hotel bathroom.

Anywayyyyyy, the next day we got to relax a little bit before checking out, and even had some time to have fun eat at Octoberfest! I got my obligatory Belgian waffle smothered in fruit, chocolate, ice cream and whipped cream and even splurged for a bag of amazing peanut brittle. And of course Tyler knew we were bringing Jas up so we had to bring her over to see him and his family

She is the happiest baby and just loves everyone!!! I will be so sad if Stranger Danger ever sets in, because she loves to give everyone the sweetest smiles!

A few days later we were able to close out our summer festivities at the Utah State Fair with our favorite missionaries, Granny Tanny and Grandpa!

I LOVE the fair and Jas had a great time too!!! We ate so much great food, and although we didn't go on any rides, we were able to make Matt's dreams come true with a strawberry funnel cake.

Sorry to see you go, we love you, Summer!!!

... that we tagged along on daddy's birthday trip!

For the past few years, Matt and his buddies have roadtripped to one BYU game for his birthday. Last year I weaseled my way into their trip to Vegas, but this year ALL of the wives and kids were invited to tag along for one epic BYU Extravaganza!

It was so epic that I'm pretty sure Chad will most likely never allow us to attempt it again.

We drove down to Phoenix with Mike and his family and I was a little nervous about all of us being crammed into one car, but it was not bad at all!

The kids did great for the most part and Matt insisted on bringing a wedge of goat cheese in the car for all of us to share, so everyone was pretty happy.

We spent the night in Vegas on the way down, which included a classy dinner at Del Taco and an exciting run in with a high/drunk/homeless person and their dog? Eventually we made it down to Phoenix where it was ridiculously hot. We pulled up to the Airbnb we had booked and got inside to find that the lovely individual that owned the house had turned off the air conditioner and it was 100 DEGREES INSIDE THE HOUSE. Who turns off their air conditioner in Phoenix in the middle of summer??? We turned the air on and got right back into the car for a trip to air conditioned Walmart. After about two hours, we came back and the house was down to 85 degrees, so we all lived. We only ventured out into the heat again in order to find some dinner, and luckily Yelp led us to Texas BBQ House

I will be dreaming of that brisket for a long time......... SOOOO GOOD.

The next day was Matty's birthday, so we made all his dreams come true and celebrated with burgers for lunch

And pretty soon it was time to head to the game!

It was a super great game! Jas gets startled by loud noises easily, but we borrowed these baby earmuffs from LJ and Jas was happy as a clam!

Obviously loving life.

We surprisingly had a lot of visitors at the game

And I had some AMAZING chili cheese fries

So really I guess I was happy as a clam. Especially after Jas fell asleep in my arms during the fourth quarter.

Have I mentioned that she is the best baby EVER??

Sunday morning, I snuck out with Jas to have breakfast with my best friend from high school and to give these two besties-to-be a playdate.

It was so good to see Amber and visit for a while! I don't get to see Am enough, and it was so fun to spend some time with her and see how big all of her kids have gotten. Too soon, I had to rush back to the house to pick everyone up and get back on the road. That night we drove to the Grand Canyon and checked it out for a few minutes before the sun went down, the kids had meltdowns, and we all died of hunger. And I didn't get any pictures because... I was cold and hangry and I'm lame. We drove on to Kingman, where we stayed the night at a little motel before heading the rest of the way home. All in all, a successful roadtrip!

I love it when the boys let us tag along on their trips!

(It was good while it lasted since it will probably never happen again!)
