... that I had Sister's Weekend!!!!!!!!!

After our Harrison Sister's Weekend two years ago, one of the sisters mentioned having the next one at a beach house. So naturally I volunteered to organize! I found a cute little beach house in Oxnard that was half a block from the beach and just perfect. Mom, Renee and I drove to Vegas and spent the night with Kim, then got up early the next morning and drove the rest of the way to the beach! We made a quick stop in LA for lunch at Portos, which was AMAZING!

The food was delicious, including the free dessert that I got after the guy behind the counter gave me a "sample." There was a minor falling-out-of-a-chair-while-taking-a-selfie incident, but that just made the experience so much better! I was nervous to get to the beach house, but it turned out to be adorable and plenty of space for all of us! We took a quick stroll on the beach

Then grabbed dinner at Hook Burger after Jamie, Tracy, the Leapers, and Brookie showed up.

We did a little FaceTiming,

Then stayed up WAY too late talking. The next morning, we did some exploring, grocery shopping, and breakfast burrito making.

By the afternoon, I was DYING to get to the beach, so I got myself ready and yelled at everyone else to do the same, then finally got out on the sand.

It was perfect. Three hours of nothing but lying in the warm sun. This is my heaven.

After we all got cleaned up, we went out for a little shopping trip... but only ever made it to Nordstrom Rack. For two and a half hours. I finally herded all the sisters out of the dressing rooms and across the parking lot to Blaze, where I introduced them to my new favorite pizza. And lucky me, Mom and Dad even came up from Camarillo to see us all!!!

We ended the night with a trip to Walmart, Tillamook ice cream stirs, and The Devil Wears Prada, again staying up WAY too late. Then we packed everyone up the next morning and headed home! It was such a quick weekend, and I loved every minute of it. I usually leave vacations even more exhausted then when I came, but this time I really felt uplifted and rejuvenated. I love my sisters so much and the whole weekend was just wonderful!!!

I love my sisters!!!!!

... that I have to go to the fair!

A week and a half after Matt went out of town for his Boy's Trip, he had to go out of town again for work. And wouldn't you know it, it was the same days that the fair was going on. I had been waiting to go to the fair for months, and I was so sad! Lucky for me, Mom and Dad called and asked us to go with them and Conni and Gavin, who just happened to be in town! I was a little afraid to take Jas without Matt, but I knew it would be my only chance to go and have at least some help, so I decided to throw caution to the wind!

Jas loved/was terrified of all the animals, shared a bucket of chili cheese fries and a lemonade with me, threw multiple tantrums, waved and smiled at every person she saw, insisted on walking through all the crowds by herself, refused to sit in her stroller, got a free rice krispie treat because she was crying, and loved being with her Grandma and Grandpa. It was completely exhausting, but we survived and I think Jas loved it in the end.

Love the fair and my stinky Jas!

... that it was Matt's birthday!!!

Officially in his "mid-thirties."

His traditional Boy's Trip was thrown a curve ball when Hurricane Harvey tore through Texas, but then the game got relocated to New Orleans, so Matt got to go there instead! I was so jealous. Matt did make it home in time to celebrate his birthday with us, and requested his favorite for dinner: enchiladas of course!

Mom and dad stopped by that night with presents and cake! Kendy made a beautiful cake for Sunday dinner at their house, and they brought the leftovers over to share with us. Good thing too, cause I am a wonderful wife and hadn't planned anything for birthday dessert. #bestwifeever.

Matt told me not to get him presents since his Boys Trip was so expensive, but I did get him a few birthday surprises: a new tool box, totes, and shelves to force him to finally clean up the disaster we call a garage. Am I the nicest wife or what?

Happy Birthday Bishop Matty Pants! We love you!!!

... that baby Ellie was born!!!!!

My little baby had a little baby!!!!!!!!!!

I was able to visit Cait in the hospital that night and meet Ellie just a few hours after she was born! She is so cute!!!! And so tiny! Literally. Like two pounds smaller than Jas has ever been in her whole life. And speaking of Jas, I took her with me to meet her newest cousin looking like a homeless baby in all of her broken-rubber-banded-sand-covered-destroyed-pigtails glory. Jas loves babies and was fascinated with Ellie,

Until I held her for a little too long, at which point Jas proceeded to pull on my clothing and whine for my attention back.

Mom came out and Jake and Jacky came out twice,

and I provided the shuttle service for everyone. JK. But I did go down to Provo a ton, and now I understand why Cait never wants to drive up to my house. But this baby is worth it, because she is so adorable!

Love my little baby and her little baby Ellie!!!
