... that I almost ruined Thanksgiving?

Okay guys. I'm ready to talk about it now.

Thanksgiving Dinner 2015.

AKA The Great and Terrible Day.

AKA The Day Krissy Almost Ruined Thanksgiving and Was Forever Banned From Helping at Thanksgiving Ever Again.

I was feeling bad that Kell had taken it upon herself to make every single Thanksgiving dish by herself with no help whatsoever (even though it was COMPLETELY her fault since we all begged her to let us help). So I told her I would make the rolls and the carrots. Even after she told me she would make the rolls herself, and even after her best friend offered to bring us over tons of her extra perfect homemade rolls, I told her that I would make them. Because I had been practicing making them with my mother in law for weeks, and I was sure I could make them on my own.

I mixed up a huge double batch of dough, rolled them all out, and waited for them to rise while we got everything else ready.

And then the rolls didn't rise. At all. But we couldn't wait any longer, so I popped them in the oven just hoping they would puff up while they baked.... and they didn't. At all. They were flat as pancakes, baked hard and tough. And I cried. Literally. I think Kell was trying to make me feel better when she said "They're fine! It's just like eating pie crust," and Jer kept calling it "unleavened bread." And the best part was, I was so obsessed with those stupid rolls that I forgot about the carrots and almost cooked them to a soggy mess. So basically I ruined the only two dishes that Kell didn't personally make herself (except for Jacky's potatoes, which were BOMB).

Oh well. Everything else at dinner was absolutely so freaking delicious that nobody really cared that we didn't have rolls. Or at least that's what they told me. Then there is this little perfect angel who ate 25 of my flat hard rolls just to make me feel better.

All the heart eyes.

After a quick nap,

Matt and I talked everyone else into a little Black Friday shopping!!! Our new favorite Thanksgiving tradition! We jumped in the car and headed up to the T.O. Mall for some post Thanksgiving sales and treats!

I thought they were going to kick us out of the store or at least make us pay for all of the "samples" that Kaari ate in this candy store, but we managed to sneak out before the police were involved. We scored a few Black Friday deals, then just as we were heading out of the mall, Matt convinced everyone that we needed to stop for a little midnight snack.

Matt insisted on introducing Kade to HDOS, which turned out to involve him taking his Cheese on a Stick back to the counter and telling the cooks that they didn't cook it enough and getting new cheeses for everyone. Because if anyone is an expert on fried cheese around here, it is definitely Matt. The manager even apologized to Matt once he explained that he was a former employee and knew what he was talking about. Let's just say it was an embarrassing end to the night for all of us.

Love my Matty like he loves his fried cheese!
